Barnes & Noble has updated a number of their B&N Classics Series books — they are now in the EPUB format rather than PDB (ereader), which means they should work on all the nook ereaders, not just the original nook. Right now, 20 of the titles are free. These are annotated classics, not just scanned editions, which usually sell for $3-$4.
the flight attendants totally said this as we were taking off and landing on my last flight. i was one of those who had to switch off.
i love my nook :)
great site for sharing your lendable ebooks for Kindle and Nook. the idea is simple, you can borrow a book for about 14 days and then it expires. you can also put your lendable books on the site for others to borrow. will definitely be checking this out when i have 14 days to finish an entire book. unfortunately schoolwork is eating up all of my pleasure reading time…
just finished reading Carved in Bone: A Body Farm Novel by Jefferson Bass. it was my first finished nook book so it’ll hold a special place in my heart forever more ;-) anyways. its a departure from my “usual” book/genre. what got me interested was that it was written partially by Dr. William “Bill” Bass of the forensic anthropologist Body Farm (look it up!) fame. the nerdy anthropologist in me couldn’t resist. it was actually MUCH better than other crime novels and i’d like to think it was because Dr. Bass has a little inside information on rotting corpses and can discuss the gruesome details with accuracy. i find myself thinking that sometime in the future, i may pick up another one of his works of fiction…
but for now i’m going back to the more lighthearted and inspiring, Eat Pray Love Elizabeth Gilbert. its my second time reading it… i know, i need to move on but it really is inspiring.
